Let's Be Ready for the Harvest

As we enter into April 2026 with the beginning of spring, there is an anticipation of things starting to grow. I also feel an anticipation of spiritual growth for SSPC. As Jesus told His disciples, "...Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest" (John 4:35). The opportunity for harvest is greater than it has ever been.

With a natural harvest, there is work to be done to reap the benefit of the harvest; someone must go to the field to gather the harvest, then bring the harvest to the barn and process it. With a spiritual harvest, there is similar work to be done. Someone must go into the field of the world and bring the harvest to the church. Someone at the church must teach, baptize, and train the souls that come in.

Each one of us needs to be ready to be involved in the harvest in some manner. Each one of us should be prepared to testify what the Lord has done for us. Each one of us should also be prepared to show people what the Bible says we should do to become "born again." Each one of us needs to have a prayer life that keeps us ready to respond in the Spirit to those that the Lord places in our paths.

We should all be praying for laborers of the harvest, but also making ourselves available for the harvest. There is an eternal reward for reaping and gatheringn the harvest and the joy of seeing souls saved (John 4:36). The fields are white! Let's be prepared for the harvest that the Lord is going to give us.
