The Antidote for Deception

The first point that Jesus made when He was asked questions about the end times was, "Take heed that no man deceive you" (Matthew 24:3). During the following discourse Jesus talks about a number of ways people are deceived. They are deceived by false Christs (Matthew 24:5), rumors (Matthew 24:6), false prophets, and false signs of false Christs and prophets (Matthew 24:24).

We are living in an age of deception manipulated by the god of deception, the devil (Revelation 12:9). Through the use of artificial intelligence, computers, and social media, we are being shown many things that are fantasies and not real, but they appeal t our carnal nature and biases. The idea of virtual reality is becoming more popular and embedded in entertainment.

While technology can be used for good, we must keep in mind that there are people and forces that are willing to use it in evil ways in order to control people and the world.

What is the antidote to keep us from being deceived? The Word of God is the antidote. It is the eternal truth (John 17:17). The Word applied to our lives will make us free (John 8:31-32). The Word is a lamp that guides us on the true path (Psalm 119:105). The Word can show us how to cleanse our hearts and spirits (Psalm 119:9). The Word in our hearts will keep us from sinning (Psalm 119:11). The Word will give us true understanding (Psalm 119:130).

The antidote for deception is the Word of God applied to our hearts and minds. It is already settled in heaven and can be trusted. Apply the Word to your hearts and minds.
