In a Moment

Sometimes we get discouraged because we've been praying for the Lord to move in a certain way, but it seems like nothing is happening, and the Lord is not hearing. We need to keep our minds and hearts on a few points.

First, if we have been walking uprightly, God is faithful and will withhold no good thing from us (Psalm 84:11b). Second, we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith is required to please the Lord (Hebrews 11:6). Third, the Lord can change everything in a moment.

The children of Israel were trapped by the approaching Egyptian army, but in a moment, the angel of the Lord and the pillar of cloud moved between Israel and the Egyptian army, and the Lord started to make a way of escape where no way had existed (Exodus 14:9-16).

In the days of Hezekiah, the Assyrian army came and threatened Jerusalem. The Assyrians had conquered all of Judah except for Jerusalem. It seemed like there was no answer to the situation, but Hezekiah prayed and took the problem to the Lord. That night, the angel of the Lord smote 185,0090 Assyrian soldiers, and the Assyrian army departed. In a moment, everything changed.

We can wonder when the coming of the Lord will occur, and we know that there are still some events that must take place; but when that trumpet blows, in a moment we will be changed into glorified bodies (I Corinthians 15:52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

We need to remember that no matter how things look, if we are living for the Lord, He is watching - and in a moment, He can change everything.
