Hold On to the Truth

Jesus made the statement, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31-32). We live in an age when many don't acknowledge that there is such a thing as absolute truth. They believe truth is whatever you want it to be or that it is dictated by who has power and authority. The Bible reveals that there is absolute truth that is the same in every age, at all times, and in every place.

The reality of absolute truth is rooted in the person of the eternal God who is loving, righteous, just, merciful, and longsuffering God who doesn't change or lie (Malachi 3:6).

Jesus came to manifest that the truth of life, salvation, and eternity to the world. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me" (John 14:6).

In life, it is possible to skirt around the truth or avoid the truth sometimes, but eventually everyone has to face the truth. Truth in our lives may not seem to make a difference until you stand in front of a judge. When facing the judge, the truth of what we did or said will make all the difference on the verdict.

The question we must ask ourselves is: are we living our lives according to the truth of the Lord Jesus? It may not seem to make a difference every day, but on the day you stand before the judgment seat of Christ, the truth of our lives will have an eternal difference.
