Recently, in many different articles, preaching messages, and conversations with ministers, it seems that the Lord is saying two things in the Spirit. Number one: the Lord keeps reminding me that He is preparing a people for the work to come. Number two: there will be a harvest.
I just talked to my brother Mark Ouellette and he told me that he had planted a 30 by 30 foot plot of wheat along with many other items. This is the third time that he has planted the wheat. The first time he planted the wheat, the turkeys ate all the seed. The second time, he didn't plant the wheat at the proper time. He has now built a 6 foot fence so the animals don't get into the garden, and he has learned the proper time to plant the wheat. This year he said that he now has wheat sprouts popping up all over.
The Lord gives us natural situations in life to illustrate spiritual situations. Reaping a spiritual harvest is very similar to a natural harvest. First, there is the Law of Harvest where God states that we will reap what we sow (Gal 6:70. We know that the Word of God is represented as seed. If we sow the truth in the Spirit, there will be a harvest. The Bible also goes on to say, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" (Gal 6:9).
In waiting for God's harvest, we need keep working and realize that "due season" means in the Lord's appointed time. In the Book of Hebrews, there is a companion scripture which says, "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye do the will of God, ye might receive the promise" (Heb 10:36). The Lord is encouraging the church to continue working, knowing that there will be a harvest and, with it, great rejoicing.
