The Lord is in Control

On the night that Jesus would be taken away to be crucified he said these words to his disciples, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (John 14:1) Jesus went on to say many other things to his disciples so that they would have confidence that God was in control when he was crucified. Jesus also said, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

The Bible lets us understand that God is in control of all things. Even with the rise of one world government and the anti-Christ, God is still in control. In the book of Revelation it tells us that even the kings that support the beast are still influenced by God. “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate…For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will…” (Rev 17:16-17)

As we see events coming about which point to the rise of world government and the anti-Christ we can be comforted. We know that the Lord is in control, He won’t let any temptation come upon us that is greater than we can bear (I Cor 10:13).  The Bible also lets us know that our God is the God of consolation. We can see from the Bible that God’s people have always faced many challenges but God has always been faithful (Rom 15:4-5).

Yes, there are events occurring which try men’s souls, but it is in times like this that men open their hearts and God’s people have the greatest opportunity to shine with the Holy Ghost. The Lord is in control.
