You Are Their Bible

The apostle Paul asks the following questions in the Book of Romans: "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent?" (Romans 10:14-15a). As amazing as it might seem, right here today in America, even in New England, it is becoming more common to run into people who don't know who Jesus is or how to call upon Him.

In this world which is experiencing an explosion of technology and knowledge, there is a famine of knowledge and great ignorance concerning the Word of God. The elites of society have gone to great lengths to have God and His law removed from modern society while, at the same time, allowing articles by influential people to create confusion and misinformation concerning God. They have created diversions and entertainments to keep people so occupied that they are ignorant of what God's Word really says.

The apostle Paul also makes this statement to the church at Corinth: "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men" (II Corinthians 3:2). The first chapter of the Bible most people will ever read will be the life of a Christian. It is through our lives that Paul's questions will be answered. They will learn to believe through the believer. They will learn to call and know about Jesus through the lives of believers. We must never forget that we are called to be salt and light to this world, and we are the first chapter of the Bible most people will read.

We have been given the Holy Spirit so that we can be witnesses. Let us prepare our hearts and ask the Lord to help us be that Bible which will lead others to our Lord and Savior Jesus.
