Time to Stand for Truth

When most of the apostles had passed off the scene and many of the first generation of the Church had also passed away, the Holy Ghost moved on Jude to write these words: "...it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3).

The phrase "the faith" refers to the body of beliefs that the early Church started with or what we would refer to as "the truth." We are living in days where the darkness seems to be encroaching in all areas of modern society, but darkness just makes the truth more apparent when it is proclaimed.

Paul told the church at Philippi that it was important to live properly because they shined as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:5). As many have stated over the last few years, the Church is called for such a time as this.

The Church was made for adversity and impossible times and is designed by the Lord to be a vehicle and repository to hold and convey truth (Matthew 16:18, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We have the examples of those that have stood in the Old Testament such as Joseph, Daniel, Elijah, and Elisha, and we have New Testament examples showing us that God upholds those who uphold His Word.

Now is the time to stand for truth and be the lighthouse which guides to the truth those that are looking for the true God Jesus Christ and His truth.
