The Lord's Plan

From the beginning, God had a plan for all creation. The Lord knew that Adam and Eve would sin and bring sin upon the whole world, but God had a plan that He would robe Himself in flesh and become our Savior because God is love (I Timothy 3:16, II Corinthians 5:19, I John 4:8).

Even with sin in the world, the Lord factored all situations and conditions for all people, so that all things will work for our benefit if we come to Him and get "born again." The Bible says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

We see that God calls everyone and he doesn't want anyone to be lost (I Timothy 2:4, II Peter 3:9), but we must love Him and be called according to His purpose and not our purpose. Ultimately, God's purpose is to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ.

God's plan is not just to save us from our sins, but to create a new humanity made after the image and likeness of the last Adam, Jesus Christ. When we are going through trials and difficulties, we need to realize that often these are just a part of the process that God is using to conform us to the image of the Son.

We need to rejoice, knowing that someday the peace, joy, and love that we experience in the Holy Ghost will become a natural part of us when we see Him because we will be changed to be like Him (I John 3:1-3).
